Written and directed by Adam Zane the whole play is set in Ben’s bedroom over the course of a series of Jock Night events in the year.

It starts as it is means to go on with three of the cast under the covers of the bed as you enter the theatre. It then continues tracking the lives of five gay men who orbit the wild, after-dark world of Manchester’s Canal Street. Jock night deals head on with chemsex, sex, and other drugs in a raw and refreshing way.

Ben is a forty-something Victoria Wood fan searching for love in a world of chemsex and jockstraps. As the nights get wilder, he’s surrounded by party boys who don’t even know who Mrs Overall is. Corrie obsessed Kam is self-proclaimed ‘fabulous and undetectable’, hiding his struggles with addiction by being the life and soul of the party. Gym-bunny Russ is gaining Instagram followers but would rather follow Kam. AJ is the fresh-faced twink, about to learn the hard way that the cobbles of Canal Street aren’t paved with gold.

When porn star Hunter arrives Ben must decide whether to follow his heart or keep the party going.

The cleverness of Adam's script takes you from laughing one moment to being shocked the next. It is both very funny but also very emotional. The cast as you would imagine spend most of the play in Jock's. The Seven dials Playhouse is a very small intimate theatre and as such you feel like you in Ben's room and not just watching it on stage. The simplicity of the set is great and there is some great music used (Kylie)
