 So, introduce yourselves?

Hi! We’re the team behind Herne Bay Pride – and we’re proud to say this is the only trans-led Pride event in Kent. We’re a passionate group of organisers, activists, and volunteers who believe in creating a safe, inclusive, and joyful space for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community – and our allies too. We’re building something really special here on the coast, and we’re so excited for what’s coming up.

What can people expect at Herne Bay Pride this year?

This year’s Herne Bay Pride is going to be bigger and better than ever! You can expect a vibrant day of live music, fabulous drag acts, local performers, community stalls, food and drink vendors, and a whole Pride Village full of fun, colour, and connection. We’re especially excited for the parade, which gathers at 9:30am outside the Kings Hall and will march along the beautiful promenade – not through the town – creating a truly unique coastal Pride experience.

And here’s a big announcement: March 2026 will be the first-ever Trans Kent Pride! It’ll be another historic moment led by our community – with more details coming this August.

Do people need to buy tickets?

The daytime event is completely free – no tickets needed to join in the fun! If you'd like to march in the parade, it's also free – but you will need a ticket. You can grab one on the day at the registration table at the Kings Hall or get it in advance via Eventbrite.

The after-party is an 18+ event and just £5 per ticket. You can buy those online at Eventbrite or pop by the Information Stall in the Pride Village during the day. It's a great way to keep the celebration going into the night!

Based on the news around the world including the UK, do you think Pride events are even more important than ever this year?

Absolutely – and especially this year. With growing anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment in the news, both globally and right here in the UK, Pride remains a vital act of visibility and resistance. As the only trans-led Pride in Kent, we feel that responsibility deeply. Pride is still a protest, a place to claim space, to celebrate who we are, and to demand a better future for everyone in our community. So yes – Pride is more important than ever. And Herne Bay Pride stands proudly at the front of that movement.
